" Wuthering Heights"

.
 Hello!

It was very difficult for me to read “Wuthering Heights”. There were many difficult words which I did not know and there were even some words which were not in my dictionary. I was very irritated because I couldn’t understand the cause of making a story difficult to read by using difficult words. However, many Japanese, of course including me, also use difficult words such as four-character compound. I do not know why, but I think we use it to show our intelligence. Therefore, I thought that Emily Bronte also wanted to show her intelligence.

In addition to it, I was interested in the character of Mr. Heathcliff. In this story, there were many negative words, such as amiss, negligence and under-bred. These words expressed the character of Mr. Heathcliff or his strange house. I thought it was very regrettable because he was a handsome man. If I were him, I would like to be popular with young women!

The mention of women reminds me of the absence of women in this story. I thought that the absence of women and his contort character had something to do with his past. I came to know his past.

Anyway, this story was very difficult and dark story. So I did not like such story. But many difficult adjectives made me interested in the character of Mr. Heathcliff. I could a little enjoy this story. But I want to study about fantasy or love romance!

Thank you for reading.

The Rule of Three

Good morning! I want to discuss about The Rule of Three.

I thought that there is a lot of The Rule of Three in the world. There are many stories which three persons are main characters. “The Three Musketeers” is one of the most famous stories which have three main heroes.

It was very difficult for me to make The rule of Three. In the last class, I thought that the famous Japanese TV commercial phrase, “Seven Eleven Iikibun” is one example of The Rule of Three. This is a TV commercial phrase of the famous Japanese convenience store, Seven Eleven. This phrase rhyme with the same sounds, ven, ven and bun. “Iikibun” means good feeling. I think this phrase is very excellent because it is very memorable and this phrase is not meaningless instances of words. It is very effective for consumers to make them go to the convenience stores because they think that the stores makes them “Iikibun”. In fact, my favorite convenience store is Seven Eleven because there are many kinds of salads and sweets. Sorry, I am being beside the point!

This phrase may be different from The Rule of Three, but I think it is apply to the rule because it is very memorable. It is just my thinking, so please do not care!

I think The Rule of Three is very effective to emphasis and to make the phrase memorable. I would like to discover other The Rule of Three in my dairy life! Thank you for reading. See you next class!

My last break

Good evening! I would like to tell you about my last break.

At the first day of my Golden Week, that is May 3rd, I watched two DVDs,”Marie Antoinette” and “Beowulf”. I have wanted to watched the first one, ”Marie Antoinette” for a long time because I had read her biography several times when I was in the elementary school and I had wanted to know more things about her. After I saw the movie, my thought about her was changed very much. I had thought that she was very selfish and thriftless woman. Of course, I thought that she was so, but she was very unfortunate woman. She was forced to marry for political reasons when she was only thirteen or fourteen years old. Such situation is unbelievable in our time, I think. I was very glad to found other sides of her. And the second movie, “Beowulf” was very grotesque and a little vulgar. I wanted to watch it because I learned about it in History of English Literature class, but I could not come to like this movie.

At second day, I met my mother, grandmother, aunt and cousin in Tokyo and after that I went to Karaoke with my friends. I think the second day was the most productive day in my Golden Week because in the third day and forth day, I was in my house and I slept almost all days!

I want to get back the feel of daily life in school and concentrate on studying.

Thank you for reading. I am looking forward to see you tomorrow class!

Last weekend in Sendai

Hi! I would like to write about my last weekend is Sendai.

I went to Sendai by night bus and I arrived at Sendai in the morning on April 28th.
It was my first trip to Sendai and first trip to Tohoku, so I was very excited!

In the morning, I bought some souvenir to my family and friends and I ate Zunda-Mochi. Please look at this picture.

It is one of the most famous specialties of Sendai. The mochi is stuffed with bean jam and on the mochi, there are some pastes of green soybeans. It was very sweet and very nice! Therefore, if I visit Sendai again, I want to eat it one more time.

I met my friend who lived in Sendai at Sendai station at about eleven a.m. and we went to eat beef tongue which was also a famous specialty of Sendai.

The tongue had plenty of flesh and very tender.

After that, we went to the concert of our favorite pop stars. The concert was the all last of the nationwide tour of this year and their first concert in stricken area. It was very exciting and I thought their songs and dances gave smile, power and courage to the sufferers. Of course, I got power and strong emotions from them.

After the concert, we ate cake and talked in a cafeteria. We talked about the concert, school life and so on. It was very comfortable time for me.

I went back to Tokyo also by night bus and I went home on the early morning on April 29th. I was very surprised when I watched the news of an accident of tour bus on the TV at my home. I got on the bus just now, so I simply couldn’t treat it as being nothing to do with me.

Anyway, my first visit to Sendai was invaluable for me, I think. There are a lot of areas where I have never visited. So, I want to visit a lot of places in Japan, and someday, I would like to introduce attractions of Japan to other countries!

Thank you for reading! Please have a good Golden-Week!
